In partnership with Women4Kansas, ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ will welcome Miss Kansas 2024, Alexis Smith, as a special guest speaker at 7 p.m. April 17 in the Fine Arts Auditorium; the event is free and open to the public.

The Shafer Art Gallery’s annual “Vortex Day†exhibit and juried art show returned this spring, featuring artwork from high school students around the area featuring over 140 pieces from Great Bend, Central Plains, Hoisington, Larned, and Chase high schools.

ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ will partner with the Kansas Army National Guard on April 8Ìýto provide healthcare students with an exciting experience, which will showcase a military Blackhawk helicopter as well as demonstrations from the pilots and crew highlighting air medical operations and emergency response procedures.

The drought monitor report as of Tuesday, April 1st continues the deterioration in conditions from last week with a small area of South Central Kansas near the border now in severe drought.
