ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ Art Instructor Steve Dudek and Piano Instructor Karole Erikson had their work accepted into the 46th Annual Smoky Hill Art Exhibition.
Erikson’s photo “Down by the River†and Dudek’s painting “Golden Koi†were both accepted.Ìý There were about 200 works submitted and 62 were selected for exhibition.
The exhibit will be at the Hays Arts Council Gallery 112 E. 11th St. in Hays and will be on display through June.Ìý

ºìÐÓÊÓÆµâ€™s 45th commencement is set for 7 p.m. Friday, May 15, in the ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ Gymnasium.Ìý
After brief comments from administrators, Chairman of the Board of Trustees Mike Johnson will confer the degrees. Vice President Dr. Penny Quinn will present the graduates and College Trustees will award the diplomas.Ìý ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ will also recognize two outstanding graduates who will also address the crowd.Ìý Quinn will also recognize ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ's Distinguished Instructor Awards.

ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ Vice President Dr. Penny Quinn has accepted a position as President at Kaskaskia College in Centralia, Ill.
The public is invited to a come-and-go farewell reception from 3-5 p.m. Friday, May 8 in room F-30 of the Fine Arts Building.
Dr. Quinn has served ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ as Vice President for six years.
ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ Medical Laboratory Technician student Amber Gabel of Hays was named Outstanding Student on April 28 by the Kansas Society of Clinical Laboratory Science (KSCLS) at the KSCLS and Clinical Laboratory Managers Association (CLMA) annual conference. Gabel also received a $250 scholarship from CLMA. Requirements focused on GPA, credit hours enrolled, communication, instructor recommendations and teamwork.Ìý

The ashes of the original Camp Aldrich Dining Hall, a building storied with weddings, reunions, summer camps and much more, have been removed to make room for a new facility for the next generation of central Kansas families to enjoy.
The foundation of the new dining hall has been poured and basement walls are being finished. The scheduled completion date is December, with an opening date of April, 2016.
The original Dining Hall burned down due to accidental causes in April of 2014.
