A wide range of local artists’ work will be on display at the Shafer Gallery as part of the ºìÐÓÊÓƵ County Arts Council Friends and Acquaintances exhibit Oct. 30 through Dec. 1. The show is underwritten by the Bill J. McKown Memorial Endowment distributed by the Golden Belt Community Foundation.Ìý
ºìÐÓÊÓƵ’s accelerated Carpentry Certificate Program is set to enroll students with classes starting in the spring. The program can be completed in one semester. It also features block-scheduling, which allows students to continue to work and make money while they go through the program.

ºìÐÓÊÓƵ alumni and Adjunct Instructor of ºìÐÓÊÓƵ’s Medical Lab Technician (MLT) Program Tyler Brown wanted to be a dental hygienist, or so she thought. After completing ºìÐÓÊÓƵ’s phlebotomy course as a pre-requisite for a hygienist program, she realized she had a new dream.Ìý

Those passionate about hip hop dance techniques can learn from one of the region’s best as ºìÐÓÊÓƵ Student Life and the ºìÐÓÊÓƵ Dance Department presents a masterclass by Kansas City artist SugEasy Singleton in two sessions at 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Oct.8 in Studio 34 on the ºìÐÓÊÓƵ campus.Ìý
The ºìÐÓÊÓƵ Theatre Department students in collaboration with the Great Bend Community Theatre will hold open auditions for all ages for their holiday play “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever,†from 5-9 p.m. Oct. 11-13 in the Fine Arts Auditorium.
