As of March 29, the area of extreme drought that covered most of ºìÐÓÊÓƵ and part of Stafford County shrank a bit and moved back to severe status and drought ranging from moderate to exceptional still covers the western two-thirds of the state in spite of recent moisture.Ìý It will take a great deal of precipitation to improve the outlook but the recent moisture will help the wheat.Ìý Wheat looks much better now than just a week ago.Ìý The six to ten-day outlook (April 5 to 9) indicates near-normal temperatures and a 33 – 40% of below-normal precipitation.Ìý The eight to fourteen-day outlook (April 7 to 13) indicates exactly the same outlook.Ìý Cooler temperatures will help the wheat but even normal precipitation will only have the crop hanging on.Ìý
Four students from ºìÐÓÊÓƵ in the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society were recognized as members of the PTK All-Kansas Academic Team during an award luncheon Friday at the Courtyard by Marriott in Junction City, where the tremendous opportunities afforded to students by the community college mission were on full display.

The ºìÐÓÊÓƵ Instrumental Music Department will present a tribute to popular music in the United States spanning several decades titled “The Great American Songbook,†at 7:30 p.m. April 22 in the Fine Arts Auditorium.

Lizard & art enthusiasts alike can carve their very own ceramic chameleon as The Shafer Gallery and the ºìÐÓÊÓƵ Art Department sponsor a ceramics workshop titled “Lovin’ Lizards: A Workshop with Kathy Robb,†as part of the “Human Nature†exhibit from 12 to 4 p.m. April 1 in the Shafer Gallery.
Potential students will have an opportunity to gear up for the fall semester during ºìÐÓÊÓƵ’s popular “Enrollment Day†sessions, which start on April 12 and will continue throughout the summer.
ºìÐÓÊÓƵ is hosting auditions for its dance company, ºìÐÓÊÓƵ Dance Theatre, and dance scholarship awards from 10 a.m.- noon March 26 in Studio 34, which is located in the Sunflower housing units on ºìÐÓÊÓƵ’s campus
