The ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ Music Department will host the “Jopara Ensemble†as part of an evening of Paraguayan music that will feature a masterclass portion at 4 p.m. in the Chapel and a concert at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Auditorium Feb. 4.
ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ presented a check to Fort Riley soldiers at the end of the fall semester for $3,250 raised through the Wounded Warrior Golf Scramble fundraiser that was held in September.
At its meeting on Jan. 10, the Institutional Actions Council of the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) approved continuing the accreditation of ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ without concern.
The ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ Foundation presents scholarships each year from funds received through its fundraising events.
The Shafer Art Gallery staff hosted a fun-filled afternoon for the Kansas State Department of Education Teacher of the Year nominees last Tuesday in the Gallery consisting of a personalized tour and an art project activity.

The Shafer Art Gallery will unveil its next exhibit “Figure/Ground†by Kevin Kelly with a reception at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 20 in the Gallery, which will feature a short artist talk, comments by the director and light refreshments. The exhibit runs through Feb. 25 and admission is free.
ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ dropped off a donation of food at the Community Food Bank of ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ County Friday. The items were collected by the ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ Library from faculty, staff and students at ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ at the end of the fall semester.
The ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ Library will team up with the English department and ºìÐÓÊÓÆµâ€™s literary annual “Prairie Ink†staff to host a “Getting Started Writer’s Workshop†from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Jan. 26 in the Cavanaugh Ballroom, in the ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ Library.
ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ will be closed for Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, Jan. 16. ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ's Center for Adult Education and the Shafer Art Gallery also will be closed. Offices will reopen and classes will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 17.
