Last week’s column dealt with the weed named the number one weed problem for 2016 – Palmer amaranth, a pigweed species.Ìý This week let’s broaden the focus a bit and include not just this weed species but all common problem weeds, especially those that have developed resistance to herbicides, especially Roundup® (glyphosate).

ºìÐÓÊÓÆµâ€™s Community Service Organization and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society will host a 5K walk/run at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 7. Registration will be at 7:15 a.m. in the Fine Arts circle drive at ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ. All proceeds will be donated to Camp Hope.
The course begins and ends at ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ. There will be two groups: 16 and over and 15 and under. There will be awards for the top three finishers in each group and they will be presented immediately following the race.
