Director of theÌýVolunteersÌýInÌýAction of Central KansasÌýand AmeriCorps Seniors Programs Linn HoggÌýis now one of only 6 CVA’s in the state of Kansas.Ìý

ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ has published its annual Report to the Community, which highlights the college’s progress toward meeting the mission set by the elected Board of Trustees.
Among the highlights from the 2019-2020 academic year include a total of more than 13,000 students served, 13 years with no tax increases, a return on investment of almost $3 for every ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ County tax dollar and a positive outlook as the college looks to 2021 after navigating many challenges related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ Instrumental Music Department will present its annual fall concert at 7:30 p.m.ÌýNov. 12. The concert will feature iconic instrumental music from across multiple decades!
ºìÐÓÊÓÆµÌýwill host aÌýStudent RecitalÌýat 4 p.m.ÌýNov. 11.

The Drought Monitor shows all of Kansas at least abnormally dry with the area of moderate drought creeping eastward towards us.Ìý And there is a bullseye of moderate drought encompassing an area centered around Wichita. ÌýAlso, a substantial area of Southeast Kansas is up to moderate drought. Again, the wheat needs moisture and there is at least a promise of some but as of the day this column was written, how much is unknown.Ìý However, this has allowed for a fairly rapid harvest.

ºìÐÓÊÓÆµâ€™s Center for Adult Education will soon begin another nine-week GED Preparation Class. However, orientation sessions are required before starting the class.
Multiple delivery types are available for students to select for orientation.Ìý Students can choose between LiveOnline, Fuzion or face-to-face sessions.Ìý LiveOnline sessions will meet exclusively via Zoom. Fuzion sessions will feature a combination of face-to-face students and Zoom students.
