ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ art students received recognition at this year’s ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ Student Exhibition at the Shafer Gallery on April 21. This exhibit will run through May 12. Those interested in experiencing the art can visit the Shafer Gallery 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Saturday.

ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ will present a student recital of instrumental and vocal performances at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 4 in the Dorothy Moses Morrison Chapel, located in the Fine Arts Building, F-157.Ìý The recital is free and open to the public.

The ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ Music Department awards 11 scholarships every year at about $1,000 each and 20 performance awards for non-music major students, which enables them to participate in ensembles.Ìý This could not be done without the community’s support of the annual Music Endowment Concert, which is set for 7:30 p.m. Monday, May 1 in the Fine Arts Auditorium.

The ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ Board of Trustees gathered Tuesday evening for its regular meeting and discussed one of its eight overarching goals, known as ENDs. This month’s focus was on “Work Preparedness,†which deals primarily with ensuring students are fully capable to handle the demands of their chosen careers once employed.

Four original plays selected from the ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ Theatre Department’s Original Playwright Contest will take the stage in a one-night performance at 7:30 p.m. April 27. Admission is free. This is the first year ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ Theatre Department has presented this series.

ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ invites members of ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ County Young Professionals, and those interested in joining, to enjoy food, drinks, music and excellent door prizes at its second annual YP mixer from 6-8 p.m.ÌýApril 28 in the Shafer Art Gallery on campus. A brief presentation will begin at about 7 p.m.

The meal is a choice of pastas and sauces with bread and a salad. Wine and beer will be provided by the ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ Foundation. Guests must be 21 or older to enter. IDs will be checked at the door.
