Theatre was never a part of the plan for Jared Steele, a freshman at ºìÐÓÊÓƵ majoring in theatre who plans on graduating ºìÐÓÊÓƵ in May.

The ºìÐÓÊÓƵ Music Department is excited to announce the spring 2018 musical, “Curtains,†a mystery comedy with music and lyrics by John Kander and Fred Ebb who wrote music for the highly acclaimed shows “Cabaret†and “Chicagoâ€.
The musical is set during 1959 in Boston, Mass. at a theatre where police detective Frank Cioffi attends the opening night of a musical when during the curtain call the star of the show, Jessica Cranshaw, is murdered. It is up to Cioffi to solve the case and save the show.

ºìÐÓÊÓƵ Voice Instructor Glenna Gaunt entered eight of her voice students in the Tabor Voice Festival Saturday, October 28 in Hillsboro. The vocal competition included the divisions of high school freshmen and sophomores, high school juniors and seniors, and college freshmen and sophomores, with the category of either classical or musical theatre. Students were required to perform one memorized song in either of the disciplines.

ºìÐÓÊÓƵ, Ellsworth Correctional Facility (ECF) and the Kansas Department of Corrections highlighted the success of about 140 inmates who have taken the initiative to pursue their educations while incarcerated at the 13th Annual Learning Celebration on November 2 at Ellsworth Correctional Facility.

ºìÐÓÊÓƵ’s Prairie Winds Concert and Jazz Bands will present a winter-themed concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16 in the Fine Arts Auditorium. The band will be performing music from various artists with Christmas music and songs of winter.
