For the first time, ºìÐÓÊÓƵ will host an art exhibit that showcases talent from every segment of the campus – students, faculty and staff. The exhibit’s name is BaRTaRT.

Andy Brown, guest juror, will speak at the Opening Night Awards Reception at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18 at the Shafer Gallery in the Fine Arts Building. Awards will be presented to students only; the exhibit runs through Feb. 16 and the community is invited to attend at no charge.

The Central Kansas CommunityÌýChoir (CKCC), which is open to all choral singers high school age and older,Ìýwill be rehearsing from 7-9 p.m. on Monday evenings beginning Jan. 14 at the Morrison Chapel at ºìÐÓÊÓƵ in Great Bend in preparation for an April 1 concert.Ìý Accessible parking is available.

The nursing program at ºìÐÓÊÓƵ is accepting student applications for the 2019-20 academic year.Ìý The priority deadline is Jan. 31, 2019. 2019 will be here in less under two days.Ìý We end 2018 with more soil moisture than in many years.Ìý In fact, it is safe to say most of Kansas is wet with barely a trace of dry conditions.Ìý This past year was certainly a rollercoaster in many ways.Ìý So what will be the major stories in the new year for agriculture in Kansas and across the nation?Ìý As always, there are many potential important events and these are in no particular order.

First, the weather outlook from December 19^th to the 23^rd.Ìý There is a very strong chance for above normal temperatures and below normal precipitation.Ìý The outlook from the 21^st to the 27^th is calling for above normal temperatures and for precipitation to be slightly above normal to normal which means not much.Ìý So if you want a want Christmas you are probably out of luck.Ìý However, if you are travelling in the region, you are probably in luck.Ìý Time will tell.

ºìÐÓÊÓƵ will offer transitioning Fort Sill, Okla. Soldiers, and family members with DOD ID cards, a grant-funded two-week certificate program at no cost to participants.

The Hazardous Waste Worker (HWW) program gives Soldiers credentials to help them find work after their tenure in the US Army ends. The next course is set from Jan. 28 through Feb. 8 at the Truman Education Center B3281.
