The ΊμΠΣΚΣΖ΅ Music Department will present a choral concert alongside the Central Kansas Community Choir and the Hutchinson Community College Choir for two performances of Gabriel Faure’s β€œRequiem Mass,” at 7:30 p.m. April 4 in the Fine Arts Auditorium on the ΊμΠΣΚΣΖ΅ Campus and again on April 6 at 2 p.m. at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church in Hutchinson.

Tickets are $10 and are available at the door.

Director of Choral Activities Dr. Eric Foley said the performance of the Requiem is quite different than most requiems of the time period.Μύ

β€œFaurΓ© chose to focus on the idea of rest and peace, rather than the day of wrath that is common with most requiem masses,” he said. β€œHaving the ability to join forces with the Hutchinson choir allows us to explore larger and more significant works for our students to learn and enjoy.Μύ I am thrilled that we are able to collaborate together on such a significant and beautiful work.”
