The ΊμΠΣΚΣΖ΅ Music Department will present a choral concert alongside the Central Kansas Community Choir and the Hutchinson Community College Choir for two performances of Gabriel Faureβs βRequiem Mass,β at 7:30 p.m. April 4 in the Fine Arts Auditorium on the ΊμΠΣΚΣΖ΅ Campus and again on April 6 at 2 p.m. at St. Teresaβs Catholic Church in Hutchinson.
Tickets are $10 and are available at the door.
Director of Choral Activities Dr. Eric Foley said the performance of the Requiem is quite different than most requiems of the time period.Μύ
βFaurΓ© chose to focus on the idea of rest and peace, rather than the day of wrath that is common with most requiem masses,β he said. βHaving the ability to join forces with the Hutchinson choir allows us to explore larger and more significant works for our students to learn and enjoy.Μύ I am thrilled that we are able to collaborate together on such a significant and beautiful work.β
