The public is invited to a free event featuring a masterclass and recital by acclaimed pianist and Assistant Professor of Practice of Piano Pedagogy at the University of Kansas Dr. Ivy Lu Wang at 4 and 7 p.m. respectively, April 20 in the Dorothy Moses Morrison Chapel in the Fine Arts Building on the ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ campus.
According to , “Wang is a versatile pianist and educator, specializing in healthy piano performance techniques. In collaboration with Chinese medical students, she created a grant-funded program named ‘How Pianists Coexist with Tenosynovitis,’ recognized as an honored program at the Sichuan Conservatory of Music. She was invited to write a front-page article in "Music Weekly," one of the most popular music publications in China.Ìý She is a lecturer in high demand for workshops, pedagogical workshops, and masterclasses around the world. She is the founder of the International Piano Professionals Association and the Conero International Piano Festival.â€
During the masterclass portion, Wang will provide guidance to ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ music students on piano technique and demonstrating healthy habits for a successful career as a performer or educator.
