Dance enthusiasts can take the opportunity to gain valuable experience as a dancer in a company setting. ºìÐÓÊÓƵ is hosting a second round of auditions for its dance company, ºìÐÓÊÓƵ Dance Theatre, at 6 p.m. Monday, May 14 in Studio 34, located in the Sunflower housing units on ºìÐÓÊÓƵ’s campus.
Members of ºìÐÓÊÓƵ Dance Theatre perform in diverse venues, attend workshops and see dance concerts live. With this time set aside, students can focus on the art form of dance in the styles of modern-contemporary, jazz and ballet.
To be considered for company placement, dance students must have at least two years dance experience and plan to attend ºìÐÓÊÓƵ in the fall of 2018. Once accepted, students would register for DANC 1001 ºìÐÓÊÓƵ Dance Theatre (2 credits) meeting Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30-6 p.m.
ºìÐÓÊÓƵ’s Performing Arts Dance Program is offering generous performance scholarships to ºìÐÓÊÓƵ Dance Theatre members. The dance program is also providing scholarships for students who wish to take other dance classes.
