ΊμΠΣΚΣơ’s Dance Department invites dance students aged 12-18 to be a college dancer for a day at the fifth annual β€œΊμΠΣΚΣΖ΅ Cougar Dance Day” from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 6 in Studio 34 on the south side of the ΊμΠΣΚΣΖ΅ Campus.

Participants will enjoy a full day of free dance classes, lunch, and clinics with ΊμΠΣΚΣΖ΅ Dance Theatre and the ΊμΠΣΚΣΖ΅ Dance Team while experiencing what it is like to dance in college.

Fine and Performing Arts Coordinator and Dance Instructor Danika Bielek said the day has been a great stepping stone for dance students interested in pursuing dance in college, as well as helping recreational dance students learn new dance styles.

β€œWe have held this event for some years now, and I have been fortunate enough to remain in contact with many of our attendees, and most have indicated that the ΊμΠΣΚΣΖ΅ Cougar Dance Day helped them discover what direction they wanted to take in dance,” she said. β€œSome went on to major in dance at ΊμΠΣΚΣΖ΅ or other institutions. Other attendees have a love for types of dance they never had access to in the past. I think all attendees, regardless of their dance goals, will have a great time.”

The event will conclude with dance scholarship auditions from 3–4 p.m. for high school seniors interested in performing with ΊμΠΣΚΣΖ΅ Dance Theatre or receiving a dance scholarship.
